Ord holds a Certificate in Education (specialising in secondary school maths) in addition to an Architecture Degree.  Born and brought-up in Edinburgh, he won a scholarship to The Edinburgh Academy, and later studied at the Universities of Edinburgh and Southampton.  From 2007 to 2019 he was delighted to be employed full-time by a local independent school which created a new Maths Tutor post especially for him!  Ord lives with his wife Jean and one of two adult daughters.
